TIPS TO SAVE WATER

  • Turn off the tap while brushing teeth or washing face.
  • Turn on the tap slightly . Have a slow flow.
  • Close the taps tightly after use.
  • See that there are on leaking taps.
  • If there are leaking taps, get them fixed immediately.
  • Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily.
  • Wash vegetables, fruits, etc., in a pan of water instead of washing them under running water.
  • When you want to drink water , take as much as you need.
  • Do not throw away water that has been used for washing vegetables rice etc.
  • Used it to water the plants or to clean the floor .
  • Collect rainwater

  • Used both sides of the paper to write on.
  • Do not waste blank sides of photocopies or computer print - outs. You can write on them.
  • Keep your school textbooks neat and tidy. Do not tear any pages. You can pass it on to your juniors in school.
  • Store paper bags for reuse.
  • Old calendar pages can be used to make colourful copy covers, envelopes and gift wraps.
  • Blank pages from previous class copies can be stapled together to make a rough copy.

  • Switch off fans and lights when not in use.
  • Use tubelights instead of bulbs.
  • Tubelights consume less power.
  • Maximise use of natural light.
  • Keep bulbs and tubelights clean. Dust can decrease lighting levels by 20 to 30%.
  • Use the mains rather than batteries whenever possible.
  • Defrost the refrigerator regularly.
  • Don't open the refrigerator too often. Also , don't open it for too long.
  • Install a solar water heater. It is very economical.

  • Rain water harvesting and artificial recharge to ground water is a simple, economical and eco-friendly method of water conservation.
  • It is an ideal solution for solving water scarcity problems in the region.

We can reduce the PLASTIC POLLUTION to keep in mind the following things :
  • We should not use the Plastic Cup / Gilas in marriage / Parties, use the old traditional Kullahad ( made of soil ) .
  • Avoid the use of Plastic visiting cards, use paper made visiting cards.
  • Do not take the articles in easily available Polythene in market, use bag of paper / cloth / juts.
  • Do not cover the copy / books with Plastic, use Paper for cover.
  • Reuse the Plastic container / boxes or grow the small beautiful Plant in them.
  • Do not throw the Polythene bags here & there, throw in the identified place only so that Polythene pickers can pick for recycling purpose.
  • Do not throw the food items in Polythene bags to nearby road. Because animals eat bags along with the food items, animal can die due to the block in intestine.
  • Don't open the refrigerator too often. Also , don't open it for too long.
  • Do not throw the Polythene in drains otherwise the sewer gets chowcked & create a problem for you.
